Quickie French Onion Soup

frenchonionBought a lot more onions than you have been able to use up before they go bad? Well, don’t throw them out. Instead can make this easy and delicious soup, perfect during winter months.

Take out as many onions as you want for a family meal. Then you can peel, slice, and sauté the onions with a little oil in a large pan for a couple of minutes—until they start to brown. Add a package or two of onion soup mix. Pour in water according to the soup package (maybe a little more) and simmer until nice and hot. You can top off with a toasted piece of bread and grated cheese.

    You said in the last sentence top with a piece of toasted bread and grated cheese. I do it different I toast the bread then break into small pieces & top it with grated cheese.
