Tearing or Cutting Salad Greens?

* You should gently tear whatever greens you are going to use rather than cut them with kitchen scissors or a knife. The reason is that the metal can cause browning of the edges faster than if you tear them.
* Also the torn greens will hold dressing better.

    This is not true. Reader’s Digest published an article on kitchen myths.

    Heloise should test all of her hints, instead of plastering her ugly picture all over the site. It’s not the first time I’ve seen something inaccurate, probably about the fifth.
