From a good friend:
One day the man decided to quit…
He quit his job, his relationship, his spirituality… “I wanted to quit my life.”
He went to the woods to have one last talk with God.
“God”, he said, “Can you give me one good reason not to quit?”
His answer surprised him…
“Look around”, God said, “Do you see the fern and the bamboo?”
“Yes”, he replied.
When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them. I gave them light. I gave them water. The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful. And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo,” God said.
“In the third year, there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit. In the fourth year, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. I would not quit,” God said.
“Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant. But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall. It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive. I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle.” God said to man, “Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots? I would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you. Don’t compare yourself to others.” God said, “The bamboo had a different purpose than the fern. Yet, they both make the forest beautiful.”
“Your time will come,” God said to him. “You will rise high!”
“How high should I rise?” he asked.
“How high will the bamboo rise?” God asked in return.
“As high as it can?” he questioned.
“Yes,” God said, “Give me glory by rising as high as you can.”
The man left the forest and brought this story.
A happy and meaningful life requires your continuous input and creativity.
It does not happen by chance. It happens because of your choices and actions.
Each day you are given new opportunities to choose and act and, in doing so, you create your own unique journey.” Keep going!

“I can turn failure into success, disappointment into increased understanding and loss into gain.”
Emerson stated in his essay “Compensation” that for everything you lose, you gain something. For every loss there is a gain, so let go of the loss and accept the gain.
Every situation is designed for your greatest growth. The universe is designed for your good and for your highest learning and success. How do you perceive or react to situations that “appear” to be negative or to be problems?
The trick is to be open and observe – to discover the hidden benefit or opportunity disguised as loss. You can turn loss into gain, frustration into fascination and fear into power!
“I will restore to you the years which the swarming locust has eaten.”
The years the locust has eaten symbolize those periods in life that seem empty of good or filled with trouble. Just as vines that are pruned bear better and fuller fruits, so all periods of hardship, problems and challenges through which we pass can be regarded as times of pruning.
Release all anxiety or condemnation of yourself or others about your past or situation.
God can give such an abundant outpouring of good in the present moment that there is not room enough to hold it!
Keep acknowledging the growth and the good that is coming out of every moment and every situation, no matter how improbable it may seem.
“Every adversity contains within it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.”

Inside every person’s heart is love, goodness and kindness.
We are created in the image of God and God is unconditional love.
This is our true blessing and divine heritage.
It is time to acknowledge this.
This is what matters most, unconditional love.
Seeing good in each others, helping each other, giving to each other.
This is what our world truly needs now.
This is what we all need, kindness.
It is time for us to discover and understand why we are alive.
It is time for us to live following proper principles.
And the most important principle is to love God with all our heart.
This means to love each other, as we all are created by God and his glorious energy and love.
“Not to hurt our humble brethren is our first duty to them, but to stop there is not enough.
We have a higher mission – to be of service to them whenever they require it.”
St. Francis of Assisi
“To laugh often and much;
to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better,
whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.”
Find three ways to show kindness to others today.
