Who Are Your Role Models?

posted by The MEGA Coach

The people you spend the most time with greatly impact your life.
They shape your beliefs, values and color your world.
It is important to have good role models who are examples of proper principles.

Who do you learn from?
Who do you spend your time with?
Do they inspire and uplift you?
Are they good examples of kindness, communication, health & wealth?

I was blessed to have a wonderful Grandma & Grandpa.
They were always there as I was growing up.
They never missed a birthday or a holiday or special occasion.
Their love was the gift that kept on giving.

My Grandpa Bob lived until I was in my twenties and taught me very important lessons.  I still remember when I was a young child, he would sit me on his lap and share how important it is to be honest and have integrity.  He said that money, positions and titles come and go, but when you lose your name, your reputation and integrity it is almost impossible to get it back.  Then he always told me, ‘I love you and want the best for you.”

I have remembered his words and this lesson all of my life.  There were a few times that I did not heed his good advice and I made my life difficult, but I did whatever I had to do to correct my mistakes and earn people’s trust back.  It was very hard to do and I am thankful that I learned this lesson.  Grandpa was a very good, decent, honorable and impeccable man.

Grandma Yvette, was also very special.  She lived to 101 and 10 months and passed away a few years ago.  I was blessed to have her in my life for my first 50 years, a very rare blessings!  I never heard Grandma raise her voice in anger or upset for my entire life.  She always looked to help others.  She was kind, caring, sensitive and giving.  She was always looking to do good.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She was an amazing person.  The world is a better place because she lived.  Grandma is one of my greatest teachers and mentors.

Grandma had an expression that no matter how bad life was she would say, “Darling, it’s for the best.  You’ll see it is for the best!”  As time went on I realized that she is correct.  Every delay turns out for my good.  Every situation, no matter how painful it is contains a gift within it.  Every cloud has a silver lining.

Take the opportunity to acknowledge, recognize and appreciate your role models.
Let them know how you feel about them because they make this world, your world a better place.

smiles,

Guidelines to Enlightenment & Success

posted by The MEGA Coach

From the Teachings of Roy Eugene Davis:

The thoughts you habitually think, your mental attitudes and emotional states, reactions to events, personal relationships and actions are chosen by you.  How you think and behave determines your existing circumstances and those you will experience in the near and distant future.  If you want any aspect of your life to be improved, you have only to exercise your freedom of choice and decisively act in accord with your choices.

Choose to be emotionally mature.  Assume responsibility for your thoughts, actions and circumstances.  Refuse to allow mental confusion, emotional unrest or psychological conflicts to dominate your awareness.  Do not let debilitating habits dissipate your vital forces, weaken your health, diminish your financial (or other) resources, mar worthwhile relationships or interfere with the efficient accomplishments of your meaningful purposes.

Be optimistic, cheerful and calmly energetic.  Optimistic people are always healthier, happier, more successful and live longer than people who are pessimistic.  Cultivate only wholesome, life-enhancing thoughts, feelings, behaviors and relationships.  Be aware of your true nature in relationship to the Infinite.  Nurture awareness of the presence of God within and around you.  Assume and express the characteristics and qualities you want to have.

“Remember that you belong to no one, and no one belongs to you.  Reflect that some day you will have to leave this world, so make the acquaintance of God now.  It is only because of delusion that you perceive yourself as a physical body.  Meditate unceasingly to realize your real, divine nature.”

True Power and True Greatness

posted by The MEGA Coach

From The I Ching, by Brian Browne Walker

The Power of the Great.

To achieve true power and true greatness one must be in harmony with what is right.

False power and false greatness can be seen all around us in the world.
Through egotistical and aggressive manipulations many people obtain a temporary position of influence.  The I Ching teaches us a different way of acquiring and using power, one that leads to true greatness and enduring influence.  The way of the Sage (God) unites power with modesty, justice, gentleness and equanimity.

The I Ching counsels us not to misuse our strength by judging, condemning, punishing or dismissing others.  It advises reticence in speech and action: more often than not, the truly superior person relies on stillness and nonaction, allowing inner truth to penetrate gently to the heart of difficulties.  The I Ching also cautions us to wait patiently for the appropriate time for speech or action.  Power can make us eager, but eagerness unbalances and leads us into trouble.  By listening carefully and patiently to the Sage we know when to move ahead, when to wait and when to retreat.

In the end, true greatness comes only to those in whom strength and proper principles are firmly united.  If you follow the Sage and persevere steadfastly in what is correct, you will inherit the power of the great.

“In life we cannot always do great things.  But we can do small things with great love.”

“Kindness is a language that we all can understand.
Even the blind can see it and the deaf can hear it.”

Egypt’s Crisis Is An Opportunity for Peace in the Middle East

posted by The MEGA Coach

The biggest challenges provide the biggest opportunities for growth and success.
All of the world is focused on Egypt right now.

It is interesting that for the moment, the problem is not the Jews and the Arabs.
Now it is the people of Egypt declaring that they want a better life and better government.

It is amazing how the stories and patterns of the Bible and the Old Testament repeat themselves. Remember the classic story of how the Jewish people became slaves in Egypt and Moses led them out of slavery, through the desert where they wandered for forty years, to find their Promised Land?

Egypt symbolizes darkness and the Jewish people lived in darkness and poverty consciousness as slaves.  Moses brought the light and led them to freedom and prosperity consciousness.  Not only did the Jewish people find their Promised Land in Israel, they transformed their negativity, beliefs, attitude, words and actions into enlightened freedom, health and wealth in the land of milk and honey.

Today, all eyes are on Egypt once again.  Egypt is again a symbol of darkness, as its own people are in slavery to their own government and way of life.  It is time for Egypt to free itself of limitations, negative patterns, beliefs and old way of life and to come into the light of freedom, health and wealth.

Where is the ‘New Moses’ who will lead the people of Egypt out of darkness and slavery to freedom? Maybe there is a Moses inside each of us. Maybe we just have to acknowledge this truth and have the courage to follow it.

There is a way to peace.  It starts by being thankful for all of our blessings and gifts that God gives us. Everything comes from His love and generosity.  We all know what the proper principles of life are.  The challenge is to consistently live them.

Life is simple.  It is like children playing in a sandbox together.  There is a certain amount of space, sand, shovels and buckets to share.  Will the children ‘play nicely together’ and share and have fun or will they be selfish, greedy and controlling?  They can either share the blessings or fight over them.

We adults tend to make things so complicated and cover up the source of the problem.  Either follow Proper Principles and The Golden Rule, or die by the sword of our own selfishness, greed and dis-ease.

We are our own worst enemies.  We do not need someone else’s help in destroying our lives.  We do the best job of destroying our own lives.  We are also our own best friends.  When we do the right things our lives blossom and thrive.  When we choose to follow proper principles we grow and prosper.

God gives us all the freedom of choice and all of this glorious abundance on earth to love, thrive and share.  He also allows us the freedom to waste these precious resources, especially our own lives.

Egypt can now be an example of proper government and proper principles.  It is up to the people to choose properly and take action.  Egypt can be a light for the world to see and an example of transformation.

It is time to stop pointing the finger and blaming, judging and criticizing others.
Each person is responsible for their contribution.
The people of Egypt are responsible for their current government.
They are also responsible for choosing a new one with honesty, integrity and freedom.

It is time to acknowledge the SOURCE and time for sincere prayer, meditation and proper principles and conduct.  It is time for compassion and truth and peace.  This must begin inside each and every person’s heart and mind.

Let’s all give peace a chance and hold Egypt in the light with our prayers for peace, unconditional love and compassion.  Let’s open our hearts and pray for God’s Grace for all people.

“A smile is the beginning of peace.”

Mother Teresa

“If you wish to experience peace, provide peace for another.”

“There can be no peace as long as there is grinding poverty, social injustice, inequality, oppression, environmental degradation and as long as the weak and small continue to be trodden by the mighty and powerful.”

The Dalai Lama

Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.

Namaste,
