Meditation-googleMeditation is vital to a healthy, happy and successful life and offers too many benefits to list here in this blog.

From The Truth Journal (April-May 2014) by Roy Eugene Davis:

Many more people are learning to meditate.  A full-page article in the November 16, 2013 issue of The Economist, an internationally distributed news magazine, reported many people are being attracted to meditation as a way to function more effectively in an increasingly busy and stressful world.  Many individuals and organizations are now actively promoting their forms of meditation.

The dramatic surge of interest that occurred in the 1960’s has spread into mainstream western society.  It is common to hear many medical doctors and other health professionals recommend meditation to their patient-clients.  It is taught in healthy spas and other wellness centers.  Thousands of people meditate privately at home and report they are healthier and happier than when they didn’t meditate.  Meditation is also being taught to men and women whose military experiences resulted in severe psychological trauma.

Mindfulness meditation is one of the forms of practice publicized in the media.  A more accurate description is attentiveness meditation.  One sits still, disinterested in thoughts or other perceptions or sensations.  When mental activity becomes subtle, awareness becomes clear.  When subliminal impulses that stimulate the mind stop, absolute (pure) consciousness can prevail.

One key to skillful meditation practice is to do it regularly with alert attention until a positive response is obvious, such as deep relaxation, peace of mind, clarity of awareness, absence of anxiety, improved mental and intellectual abilities, an enhanced sense of overall well-being, or useful insights.   Spiritual awakening and growth is naturally experienced with a  regular, effective meditation routine.
