Self-Mastery

THE SUCCESS OF A PHYSICAL LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL, MOST WORTHY, BUT THE PERFECTION YOURSELF IS A THOUSAND TIMES MORE VALUABLE THAN ALL THE WEALTH YOU CAN ACCUMULATE ABOUT YOU.”       Saint Germain

Enlightenment is possible during your lifetime.  Self Mastery is the ultimate purpose for life.  You are blessed with the co-creative ability and freedom to create your life the way you want.

For a powerful breakthrough:
Go to a place or environment where you feel free, undisturbed and inspired.  Take out a piece of paper and at the top of the page in the center, write, “My Qualities.”  Then, under “My Qualities,” draw a line to the bottom of the page.  On the left side at the top write “Weaknesses” and on the right side at the top write “Strengths.”

Take a few deep breathes in through your nose and out through your mouth.  Let everything go and relax.  Start with any of your weaknesses or negative qualities and write each one down on the list on the left.  Observe any pattern, behavior or quality you have and write them down.  Be sincere and do not judge yourself.  Be honest and acknowledge what is.  Be courageous and tell the truth about yourself.  When you are complete review your list.  Write down every weakness or negative quality so your are complete.

Take a few more deep breaths in the same manner.  Let everything go and relax.  Then look at and observe your strengths or positive qualities and write each one down on the list on the right.  Acknowledge any positive quality, behavior or pattern about yourself.  Go total.  This is a time for absolute honesty and for revealing everything.  This is not a time for modesty, it is a time for total truth.

For each list, you may notice that you run out of qualities to describe yourself.  If you think that you have listed all of your qualities, give it a few minutes and you may find that some more qualities come to mind and flow out in little streams of creativity.  For both set of qualities, allow yourself a little additional time when you think you are done and see if anything else reveals itself.  Do not force this process.  Let it flow, there is no right way to do this process.

This is your Self Inventory.  When your lists are complete, objectively review your weaknesses and ask yourself if your negative qualities have increased or decreased in intensity or quantity over the past few years, 5 years, 10 years, etc.  You may be quite surprised.

Then review your strengths and do the same thing.  Have they increased or decreased in intensity or quantity over the years?  Then look at both sides of your list and see what you see.  Acknowledge the truth about your patterns of behavior and qualities.  This is where your life is right now.  These patterns determine your success in your life and relationships.

Do you have preferences regarding your strengths and weaknesses?  Do you judge yourself for any of them?  Does judging, criticizing or making yourself wrong help you grow, improve or feel better?  Could you be any different than you are right now?  What would happen if you suspend your judgment and criticism and just be an observer, like an anthropologist studying a species?

Every human being has both positive and negative qualities or strengths and weaknesses.  The key is to allow yourself to be the way you are.  Stop judging yourself and wasting precious time and energy.  Just by noticing a negative behavior and letting it be the way it is allows it to unwire itself and fade away.  Do not judge or resist it.  Judging or resisting your own behavior is like adding gasoline to a fire.  It makes it grow stronger.  When you stop adding energy to a negative pattern of behavior and just acknowledge or observe it, the pattern completes itself.

These patterns of behavior determine the true quality of your life, health, relationships and true success.  By having the courage to acknowledge the truth you now make clear, conscious choices about you, your life and career and where you want to go.  Before you can set and achieve any goal, you need to know where you are – your starting point.  Sometimes you must release or eliminate the old to create a vacuum for the new.

Consciously review your strengths and weaknesses and see where you specifically need to focus your time and energy to neutralize and even eliminate your key weaknesses that sabotage your well being, relationships and success.

It is possible after completing this powerful exercise you will experience a breakthrough.  Feel free to email me at lee@themegacoach.com.
