Have a Magnificent Day!

Grooming for Greatness

Grooming for greatness starts the day you are born.  Follow the principles for success in all areas of your life at an early age and you will have the best possible foundation strongly in place for the rest of your life.

Keys to a Successful Life:

One of the wisest practices for health, well being and spiritual growth is daily meditation.  It improves your mental clarity, creativity and dissolves negative patterns of addiction.  Meditation is good for every area of your life and brings harmony, balance and goodness to you.

Meditation practice can increase brain function, reduce the effects of aging on the brain and improve concentration and memory – Dr. Sara Lazar – Harvard Medical School.

A growing body of research suggests meditation significantly enhances your immune system – U of Wisconsin and Harvard in 2003

Long-term meditators – improvements in sleep, blood pressure, calmer heartbeat, better circulation and younger biological and functional ages and they pay significantly less money to doctors – 87% lower heart disease cost.

Meditation allows you to focus on solutions through relaxation and peace of mind.  It improves listening, learning and memory skills.

Meditators are superior learners and remember more of what they study.

Workplace Results:
Improved creativity, productivity and performance.
Greater job satisfaction and reduced turnover.

Being Healthy:
Health allows you to maximize your potential in all areas of your development.  The body and brain is approximately 70% water, so drink lots of water.  You need to drink half of your body weight in ozs. per day.  For example, if you weigh 160 lbs, divide by 2 = 80 oz’s or 10 – 8oz glasses of water a day.  Your body needs the right fuel – 70% green – veggies, salads, fruits and high water content nutrition daily.  If you want to live, eat foods that are alive!

Your body  thrives on high water content and alkaline foods.  Eating nutritious foods and drinking lots of water promotes proper body weight.  A dehydrated body retains weight and eating processed foods/fast foods, sugar and soda clogs your digestive system and puts on weight. 8 out of 10 Americans are overweight or obese.

Exercise is also very important.  There are many good forms of exercise.  The most powerful exercise is rebounding – bouncing on a mini-trampoline.  According to NASA, it is the most effective exercise on the planet and astronauts rebound as part of their conditioning program.

Being alive on this planet requires interacting with other people and being an excellent communicator is key to achieving successful relationships.  People have different styles of communicating.  Some are more visual and fast paced, others are a more auditory and a little slower and speak with more resonance and tone and others are more feeling oriented.
Although we use all of these three forms of communication, you have a primary communication strategy.  Practice all three of these styles of communication to be a flexible communicator.

Communication is:
7% words
38% tone
55% body language

Most people focus on the words which is the least accurate form of communication.  Make sure that you focus on the tone and body language to determine the congruency of a person’s communication, including yours.

People have different love strategies and there are five basic types:
Words and Affirmations
Quality Time
Acts of Service
Physical Touch

It is important that you can express your love to another person in a way that they can understand and acknowledge.  Make sure you know which love language is primary for your spouse, partner, family member and friend.  Communication, acknowledgement and love languages are key to successful relationships.  Discover the 5 languages by Dr. Gary Chapman.

“The quality of your life is directly related to the quality of your communication with yourself and with others.”
