“Release is a form of forgiveness that we all need to practice often. Although we usually think of emotional attachment as one of the highest forms of love, quite the opposite is true. Emotional release is one of the highest forms of love. Attachment leads to bondage, whereas the way of true love is to free that which you love. You never lose anything through release. Instead, you open the way for a freer, more satisfying type of love to develop, where everyone involved is able to give and receive love in a more harmonious way.
You never lose that which is for your highest good, under any circumstances. When it seems that you have lost something, it is because it is no longer best for you. Though you may feel that it is still best, you have actually outgrown it and the pruning power of love has released you from it. Realizing this, you are able to free it and open your mind and heart to receive your new and higher good.
Setting others free means setting yourself free. When you feel bound to other people, their attitudes, their behavior, their way of life, it is because you are (perhaps unconsciously) binding them to you. Then you begin to feel bound, chafing against the very bondage you have caused! Always, you yourself hold the key to your freedom from bondage. Your turn the key to that freedom when you release the personality, problem or condition that you think is clutching you. Remember, you are the master, never the slave, of your circumstances.
You become victor instead of victim when you dare to speak the word of release to the person or thing you think is binding you. Most human-relations problems would melt away if people would practice the healing power of release, instead of trying to make people over in a certain image, or trying to force them to do things the way you want.”
“I RELEASE YOU NOW TO YOUR HIGHEST GOOD. I RELEASE YOU TO COMPLETE FREEDOM AND COMPLETE HEALTH IN WHATEVER WAY IS BEST. I AM FREE AND YOU ARE FREE.”
