Enlightenment is possible during your lifetime. You can be, do and have your highest good and actualize your divine potential. Self Mastery is the true purpose for your life. You have free choice and you create your reality.
Here is a suggestion for a powerful breakthrough. Take out a piece of paper and on top of the page in the center, write, “My Qualities.” Then draw a line down the center of it. On the left side at the top write “Weaknesses” and on the right side at the top write “Strengths.”
Take a few deep breathes in through your nose and out through your mouth. Start with any of your weaknesses or negative qualities and write each one down on the list on the left. Observe any negative pattern, behavior or quality that you have and write them down. Be sincere and do not judge yourself, be honest and acknowledge what is. Be courageous and tell the truth about yourself and when you are complete review your list. Make sure that you have everything negative about yourself listed so you are complete.
Take a few more deep breathes in the same manner. Then look at your strengths or positive qualities and write each one down on the list on the right. Continue being honest and acknowledge any positive quality, behavior or pattern about yourself. Make sure that you go total. This is a time for absolute disclosure and for revealing everything. This is not a time for modesty, it is a time for total truth. Make sure that you have everything positive about yourself listed so you are complete.
You may notice that you run out of qualities to describe you. Give it a few minutes and you will find that more come to mind and flow out in little streams of creativity. For both the negative and positive qualities, allow yourself a little additional time when you think you are done and see if anything else reveals itself. Do not force this process, allow it to happen from your sincere intention to see the truth and acknowledge what is.
This is your Self Inventory. When you have everything listed, go over your weaknesses and negative qualities and ask yourself if they have increased in intensity or decreased in intensity over the past few years, 5 years, 10 years, etc. You may be quite surprised about what you discover about even you “negative patterns.”
Then review your strengths and positive qualities and do the same thing. Have they decreased or increased over the years in quantity and intensity? Then look at both sides of your list and see what you see. Acknowledge the truth about your patterns of behavior, conduct and qualities. This is where your life is right now.
Do you have preferences regarding your strengths and weaknesses? Do you judge yourself for any of them? Does judging, criticizing or making yourself wrong help you grow, improve or feel better? After all, how could you be any different than you are right now? What would happen if you could suspend your judgment and criticism and just be an observer, like an anthropologist studying a species? This gives you a wonderful perspective to discover new things about yourself and make new choices.
Every human being has both positive and negative qualities or strengths and weaknesses. The key is to allow yourself to be the way you are and to stop judging yourself and wasting your precious time and energy. Just by noticing a negative behavior and letting it be the way it is allows it to unwire itself and fade away. The key is not to judge or resist it. Judging or resisting your own behavior is like adding gasoline to a fire. It makes it grow stronger. When you stop adding energy to a negative pattern of behavior and just acknowledge or observe it, the pattern completes itself.
These patterns of behavior determine the true quality of your life, health, relationships and success. By having the courage to acknowledge the truth you can now make clear, conscious choices about you, your life and career and where you want to go. Before you can set and achieve any goal, you need to know where you are.
Consciously review your strengths and weaknesses. See where it is best to specifically focus your awareness, time and energy to neutralize and even eliminate your key weaknesses that sabotage your well being, relationships and success.
It is very possible after completing this powerful exercise you experience a breakthrough.
