More and more people around the world are meditating and discovering one of the greatest paths to enlightenment. There are three ways to awaken; it can happen spontaneously (like Buddha), it can happen through acts of service or it can happen through meditation.
Meditation has many benefits. It improves your focus and concentration, your health and it stills and clarifies your mind. Meditation guides you to your true life’s purpose. …..to awaken to your full enlightenment. Meditation empowers you to let go of stress, anxiety and “not to sweat the small stuff.”
Whether you want just a little peace or calmness, better health or if you want to awaken to your total enlightenment in this lifetime, meditation is a powerful pathway. Each person determines how far they want to go in this lifetime. There are no limits except the ones human beings place on themselves. You can fully awaken in this lifetime.
A 2007 study by the U.S. government found that nearly 9.4% of U.S. adults (over 20 million) had practiced meditation within the past 12 months, up from 7.6% (more than 15 million people) in 2002. For various reasons, more people are meditating and living consciously t0day than ever before on this planet. This is an exciting time of growth, awakening and transformation.
One of the most amazing benefits of meditation is that it allows you to be with you, totally. Meditation offers the opportunity to completely let go of all the noise of daily life and to center with the most powerful energy in the universe – God. After all, we are created in God’s image and made from His divine energy. In meditation, you can connect with this energy within and around you. It is simple yet profound and will transform your life, especially if you meditate on a consistent basis. Most important is your sincerity and intention, not your technique.
As I mentioned in yesterday’s blog, Roy Eugene Davis is a wonderful guide and teacher for mediation and Kriya Yoga. Roy is a direct disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda and teaches from his heart and it the way that he was taught by one of the great spiritual masters of our times. Visit www.csa-davis.org. There is a weblink for Center for Spiritual Awareness to the right under “Blogroll.”
“Read a little, meditate more, think about God all the time.”
“Autobiography of a Yogi” by Paramahansa Yogananda is one of the most amazing books ever written. I found it interesting that Steve Jobs of Apple always had a copy downloaded on his computer ever since his first visit to India after he left college.
I saw a movie recently that showed people in NYC darting back and forth like ants. It said that people are rushing, they are late and maybe that is why it’s called “The Human Race.” Meditation allows you to disengage and detach from the race and to discover your own song and path. It empowers you to discover that you are eternal, immortal and infinite and that we are one.
