“The X Factor” – Boot Camp Group Auditions (videos)

I intended to post about last night’s “The X Factor” boot camp auditions, but thought I’d wait until tonight, when they all had aired. That way we can wrap up boot camp in one fell swoop. As it is, I still have to wait until tomorrow to put up the last three groups’ videos, but you can see the first eight groups and hear what happened.

First, the contestants were brought out in groups and they stepped forward and sang. We learned that Chris Rene’s sister, Gina, was also competing at boot camp; she’s good. One stand out was Stacy Francis, who stood out because she completely over sang. Totally. But I love her. Other favorites shines, like Drew Ryniewicz, Tora Woloshin, Caitlyn Koch (go Buffalo, NY!), Melanie Amaro, Marcus Canty, Rachel Crow, The Anser. Some forgot the words to their songs … oops.

The judges whittled the 162 contestants down to 100, and the next day they performed in groups of 6 to 8 people; the group acts within the groups performed together. Some acts shined, others, not so much. Here are the rest of the group audition videos; you can judge for yourselves. And then read the next post to see who made it through to the next round – a visit to the judges’ homes for the beginning of the mentoring.
