All that jumping around would confuse me. If I set out to read the whole Bible (which I have read all the way through, actually:), I’d be more inclined to just start at the beginning and read straight through.

The readings are selected by the Charles Stanley Life Principles Daily Bible.
It does seem like a lot of jumping around, but when I did it the first time, I was surprised how much the OT reading and the NT reading went together. Like in the OT reading when Noah was calling the animals 2 x 2 onto the ark, in the NT reading Jesus was calling the disciples 2 x 2. It was good for me to read the Bible and see familiar passages in a new light.
I’d love to have you join us, anyway. Read whatever works for you; you don’t have to follow this reading schedule. The idea is to just commit to reading every day and developing a closer relationship with God. Some people are only doing the OT, some just the NT. Why not just do the OT readings every day, and then next Jan, do the NT?
Trust me, when you get to Leviticus, you’re going to want a diversion with some NT stories! LOL

Thanks for the challenge. We are also studying the Old Testament in the LDS church, so this goes along nicely.

Yeah! I’m so glad you’re reading! I figure if we all do it together, then we’ll be more likely to stay with it for the whole year. :)
Happy reading and studying!

I started a bible overview class this year at my church. So far I have not missed a lesson. However, we learn so much more on the internet. We have more time for it.
I will be attending. Have you thought about making a group or is this what this is?

The challenge for readers is to read thru the Bible in a year, so that’s where we are. I am working with the folks at Glo to include some digital bible stuff that the software offers that would really help with the readings. Maps, photos, diagrams, timelines, stuff like that.
I post the daily reading here and you can comment on whatever you like. It’s hard for me to actually do a group, plus you miss the devos from artists, etc.

Do you have the other months with applicable bible verses to read listed elsewhere?
