So how are you doing with your daily Bible reading? I had to skip one day because of a terrible migraine but was able to catch it up on another day.
I’m finding this time around that I’m really interested in the Old Testament readings. I’ve been journaling question after question after question as I read. Really, it’s not easy to just read every day; I want to stop and look stuff up and do some more research. But I’m doing my reading at night so by then it’s too late and in the morning, life just steps in and sucks away the minutes.
But taking notes really helps. Some day, I’d like to go back and see if I can’t find answers to some of those questions. It’s fascinating to see how stories intersect.
If you’re reading, keep going! Don’t give up – if you’ve missed days, just jump back in today. The OT readings seem to so far be divided up by pretty familiar stories, so even if you’ve had to skip some readings you should be able to pick up and move forward pretty easily.
And remember: this is all about meeting with God every day. So just get out of today’s reading whatever God has for you!
Here are the readings for January 17, 2010:

Genesis 33:1-34:31
Psalm 9:1-5
Proverbs 3:21-26
Matthew 12:1-21
