LesPaul.jpgWhile this isn’t related directly to Christian music, it’s so important we have to take note:
Guitar legend Les Paul died this week at the age of 94.
Paul’s quest for a perfect and particular sound led him to create the first solid-body electric guitar, and his constant tinkering with sound and recording led to innovations that made him an icon in the music world.
The Associated Press music writer Nekesa Mumbi Moody did a great story about Les Paul, including a history of his musical career, from his work in the 20s to his 2005 Grammy-winning album, “Les Paul & Friends: American Made, World Played,” his first album of new material since those 1970s recordings and his first official rock CD.

His tinkering with electrical amplification started when he was just a boy and let to techological advances that became the hallmark of rock and pop recordings.
It’s not an exaggeration to say that music as we know it wouldn’t sound the same without Les Paul’s technological contributions and futuristic creativity.
