There’s a new summer music festival on the scene, and while you’ll find much of the same fare as at any of the two dozen other festivals across the nation – music, speakers, some kind of sports – this one offers one very special treat: it’s totally free.
God Rally ’08 will be held in Rifle, Colorado at the Garfield County Fairgrounds on June 20-22. Headlining the event is Big Daddy Weave, John Waller, Jimmy Needham, and Robin Mark. Two dozen other indie or up-and-coming bands round out the line up.

Main stage speakers over the three days will include festival circuit favorite Duffy Robbins, Foster Christy, Dwight Robertson, and Jude Del Hierro.
Special events include a Sunday Morning Community Worship Service, Motorcycle Rally Ride, Tribute to the Armed Services by Captain Chris Plekenpol, Pro Basketball Clinic, and a Youth Rally.
While the festival itself is free, there is a small charge for onsite camping.
The great thing about festivals like this is that, in addition to familiar artists, you get to catch some up-and-coming bands that might be climbing the charts next year. You’ll also see some performers who don’t quite fit the bill at other festivals, like GunnPoint Cowboy Church Ministries, who perform Friday night.
