silvertom.jpgI bought my first pair of Tom’s Shoes this weekend and I luff them! For every pair of shoes you buy from the three-year old company, they give one away to kids in need, somewhere in the world. The shoes themselves are simple slip-ons that come in an increasing array of colors and fabrics. So far they’ve given away more than 85,000 pairs. 

When I bought my pair (in a disco-ball silver silver), the salesgirl nudged me along in my buy-or-not-buy process by telling me about how Tom’s are back-ordered like crazy since the airing of an iPhone/Blackberry/AT&T commercial starring the company’s owner, Blake Mycoskie.
