_45648877_boxpainting226.jpgWow, just wow.  Have you seen the news about the “Kyoto Box,” a solar-powered oven made from nothing more than two cardboard boxes, black paint, aluminum foil, and the rays of the sun? 

The box was just awarded first prize in a green invention contest sponsored by the Forum for the Future.  It’s sustainable, scalable, and it can sterilize water as well as boiling or baking food.  And, it can help developing nations stem the tide of deforestation and smoke inhalation that comes from using firewood as the primary cooking fuel.
