I admit it. I am weary of the historical books of Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles. There are only so many ways a king can turn evil, after all. Still, the play-by-play of Chronicles has made me see firsthand the importance of the temple in ancient Israel’s faith, which is the necessary set-up for understanding the devastation that’s about to happen with the Exile. (Spoiler alert!) 

Only two more weeks until Ezra & Nehemiah. I’m not saying that they’re going to be cheerful, but it’s time for a change, a new political party. The winds of change are blowing. Babylon, anyone?

#Twible 2 Chron 17: Jehoshaphat, aka “Phat,” is blessed w/riches & military might. He’ll keep them as long as he’s righteous….Oh, damn.

Thurs 11/4
#Twible 2 Chron 18: On the eve of Phat’s great battle he decides to ask G if war’s a good idea. It might’ve been a good idea to ask BEFORE.

Fri 11/5
#Twible 2 Chron 19: Phat’s learned to trust G; installs Levitical judges through land to teach people the law. But will Senate confirm them?
