In full presence of yourself. Today is the day.  It feels right to share this work of poetry from west indies poet, Derek Walcott, in the midst of his quite lengthy works, this poem, short and concise and full of the richness of forgiveness comes as a welcome breeze in the explorations of our daily chaos as the world turns.  Take this moment to ground into the feeling beyond the words and worlds of your space and melt into the flowing river of love’s greatest gift.

The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other’s welcome,
and say, sit here. Eat.

You will love again, 
you will love again, 
the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. 
Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger 
who has loved you all your life, 
whom you ignored for another, 
who knows you by heart.

Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.

Sit. Feast on your life.

Each day is the opportunity to be a full feasting day filled with love.  We are a work in progress, we are more than what stares back at us in any mirror that presents.  We are hear to be loving to ourselves and those we meet, to share ourselves in the aches and pains and joys and loves of being alive.  Experience the sparkle, diamond, rainbows of your life.  Enjoy all of it, embrace the deepest space of your truest self and when it is time, sit and feast on your life exactly as it is with no judgment, no apologies only love for you.  All of you.

I won’t test anyone or anything trying to prove a point.  I will have acceptance and forgiveness for who I am, right now.

I won’t hide in the shadows. I will ignite my light!

I won’t shy away from commitment, I will practice showing up for myself

I won’t focus on the negative, I will accentuate the positive

I won’t worry about what might happen, I will celebrate what does

I will have a miracle.

I won’t talk about war, I will feel peace.

I won’t talk about what isn’t working. I will experience what is.

I won’t complain about what people don’t do. I will appreciate what they do.
