Soaring in the polls in Iowa, Mike Huckabee is getting some scrutiny to go with his mo.

Mr. Wallace, on Fox News Sunday, asked Mr. Huckabee about a range of alleged ethical shortcomings –- including accepting gifts while he was still governor of Arkansas. The Fox host quoted one Arkansas journalist’s assessment that Mr. Huckabee had “a thin skin, a nasty vindictive streak, and a long history of imbroglios about questionable ethics.”
“Do I have a mean streak? Do I occasionally get upset? Of course, I do,” Mr. Huckabee replied. But he insisted that the gifts he had received posed no problem. Mr. Wallace found it odd that Mr. Huckabee and his wife of more than 30 years had signed up in 2006, as he was about to leave the governor’s mansion, for a “wedding” registry so friends could help them furnish their new house. The former governor replied that his wife’s “friends from church and high school” had merely wanted to hold a “housewarming” party –- but that gift registries allowed no such category.

Finally, a $400 fondue set to match the $400 haircut. Do I smell some Nancy Reagan new china issues coming? Which raises the irresitible qustion: What would you send the Huckabees, or the Clintons for that matter, if they renewed their wedding vows?
