Here’s today’s dispatch from the crossroads of faith, media and culture.

Drama explores theme of divine intervention.  I Am…Gabriel stars TV icons Dean Cain and John Schneider in a tale about a mysterious boy who gives hope to the residents of a struggling, drought-stricken Texas town that some say is actually cursed following a decade-old tragedy.  12-year-old Gavin Casalegno portrays the title character.

Director Mike Norris (Chuck’s son), who co-wrote the film and also has a role in it, says “I Am. . . Gabriel shows what happens when people turn to God in prayer and start to trust Him for the circumstances in their lives.” He adds, “The mystery of faith comes to life and encourages every viewer to see God at work in every little detail.”

I Am…Gabriel debuts on DVD on Tuesday, Aug. 28.

Produced by Norris’ 2nd Fiddle Entertainment and Heaven’s Promise Productions, the film is distributed by EchoLight Studios.
