“Never give up on your dream… because you never know what the Lord can bless you with.” – Kelly Rowland
A note from Alex: Bookmark this post for the days when you feel like giving up. And when those days come, remember this: You are stronger than you think.
The enemy waits for the desperation arrive.
When you are at the end of your rope and have given up hope, the enemy of your soul pounces on your confidence, shreds your dreams, and casts a dark shadow of doubt over what you want to be or do.
The enemy doesn’t want you to be successful. It delights in breaking you to the point that you surrender and say things like, “What was I thinking, I can’t do something like that,” or “There is no way I will ever be able to…”
When you give up, you give in to the temptation to quit. However, the urge to quit is strongest just before success, hope or peace is about to be realized.
The enemy is the self-limiting tape that plays in your head and tells you that you are not are enough, or that you are not worthy to have the things you want and deserve.
You encourage the enemy when you listen to the tape and allow it to keep playing. Maybe it’s just that you don’t know how, or think you are not allowed to play a new tape in your head. The truth is you are allowed.
No matter what you were told or learned as a child, you can do anything you choose in. If you want it bad enough, you will achieve your goals and dreams.
One question though: “How badly do you really want it?”
- Do you want it so badly you are willing to make changes in your life that may be uncomfortable?
- Are you willing to get up earlier or go to bad later in order to work on your dream?
- Are you willing to work longer hours to pay for the education needed to accomplish your goals?
- Are you willing to keep pushing that rock up the hill, day after day?
- Are you willing to walk through fear and into the growth?
You can defeat the enemy. You are stronger than you think.
When you feel like giving up is the time to reach down deep into your soul. Shut off the tape that plays the lie. Replace the lie with a new tape that states the truth – you are a worthy person.
When you do this, the enemy of your soul is defeated.
