As you may know, I’ve been following a no-carb/low-carb diet for the past 2 and a half weeks, almost 3 weeks of weight loss efforts.  I stepped on the scales the other day, and had actually gained a couple of pounds!  OMG!

Having lost 160 pounds and maintained it by the grace of God for over 18 years now (wow, can it be that long?), I’ve learned a few things about weight loss.  Here’s what I do to stay on track, to drop those pesky 20 pounds I’ve wanted to get rid of for a long time:

— I stick with my food plan, and follow it precisely.

— Perhaps I eat a little less, but every few hours so I don’t get ravenous.

— I make sure to drink at least 3 big (8 ozs. or bigger) glasses of water a day.

— I continue my movement program, and make sure to move at least 30 minutes a day.

— I don’t worry, and pray to God over and over for assistance – which I always receive.

— Stop weighting myself everyday, and only get on the scales once a week: same time, same clothes (or not).

— I make sure to eat a lot of vegetables, and less heavier foods like meats, nuts and dairy.

If it’s next-to-impossible for you to stay on your “diet,” then I’d bet you’re not on the right one for you.  Always check with your physician before beginning a new diet, food plan or weight loss effort.  Check with your doctor, too, if you go more than two weeks without losing weight on a diet.
