Have you ever been to an anonymous support group meeting? They can be really interesting and valuable and you meet people you can relate to, because they’re having similar experiences with being overweight.

You can also discover cool groups at churches, synagogues, temples, community centers, hospitals, through your local newspaper listings, or United Way or your local public library. Don’t be afraid or ashamed to go. You’ll have a good time, and it can be quite inspiring and emotionally cleansing, too.

Overeaters Anonymous is one such group with thousands of meetings all over the world. There you might find others with spiritual beliefs like yours. You may also discover new ways of dealing with the problem of obesity or being overweight. Certainly, you can find new friends, enjoying fellowship and compassion for this most difficult problem.
