A friend forwarded this message to me, and I thought I would pass it along to you!

Next Monday, January 17 is the 25th Anniversary of the Martin Luther King, Jr. , a Federal holiday. MLK Day is recognized across the country as a day of service – “a day on; not a day off.”

I am inspired by the national level of commitment demonstrated in local communities across the country.  I thought you might be interested in writing a blog post or comment about Americans answering Dr. King’s call to action: “What are you doing for others?”

MLK Day of Service is led by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), the federal agency tasked with engaging Americans of all ages in service to meet critical local and national needs.

CNCS encourages Americans to mark the 25th Anniversary of the federal Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday and honor and commemorate Dr. King’s legacy to service by committing to 25 acts of service (that’s only twice a month!) in 2011.

The website for MLK Day is MLKDay.gov.
