In ancient times, many early Christians left their families, homes and work to follow and be with God. They fled the cities and their hectic, stressful lives. They left similar problems that we are struggling with too, such as too much debt, relationship challenges, and addictions. They looked for help and salvation from sin, error and death. They sought the mercy and forgiveness of Christ, God in human form, on earth, with us for us.

Like 2,000 years ago, we too need mercy, forgiveness and salvation. We need relief and guidance. But it’s not so practical to just leave everything behind. We can, however, through connection and communication with God, find true peace. We don’t have to leave our families, homes and work. Yet, we can leave our struggles behind and find true peace and happiness.

It is not necessary to be Christian, or any particular religion. All you need is belief in God, and a desire to be with Him. Through God’s grace, you can immediately be with Him through prayer, meditation, or just a moment of silent worship.

These techniques of peace and spiritual freedom, and the stories of the ancient mystic travellers are what my new movie (released today) and coming book(April) are all about. The movie is a trip to the ancient Holy Lands and Old Country, visiting caves, monasteries and convents, seeking truth and wisdom, and instruction in the Jesus Prayer: an ancient and very powerful prayer. You may have heard about it, “Mysteries of the Jesus Prayer.” It is being released today. It has taken me, and almost 100 people on our team, to make this movie. My partner and Christian history teacher, Very Rev. John McGuckin and I are honored to bring it to you, in a pre-theatrical release on the SnagFilms Collection on Comcast and Verzion FiOS Video-On-Demand all over the U.S. It will be in select theaters, and in community screenings, and on DVD early in the New Year.

We hope you have Comcast or Verizon FiOS, and can see “Mysteries of the Jesus Prayer” today, or soon. It an especially wonderful film to see with your loved ones for this Christmas and holiday season. Remember, the movie is in the SnagFilms Collection.
