Are you with me on the kick-sugar, going sugar-free, low carb intake campaign?  How are you doing with it?  Several people have written comments, how they’re doing with it.  But I’d love for you to join-the sweet with no sugar lifestyle, and tell us how better it makes you feel.

Here’s a tip for those of us who love sweet desserts, but don’t want the calories.  I for one have always had a little “dolce” after meals; especially after dinner.  I often think to myself that I can just skip the sweet stuff, but later in the evening I begin to crave it.

Try having some sweet things in the house standing by for those “sweet-tooth” times, such as canned fruit with no added sugar, or syrup.  Discover pear-halves in white grape juice, or pineapple slices canned or bottled in their own juice.  Dried fruits, such as apricots, raisins, apples slices, etc. are great.  There’s a trend in coffee shops and some fast-food chains to offer dried fruits in little packages, and that’s fantastic.  I’m delighted there are more and more sugar-free options becoming available, without an artificial sweeteners or chemical additives.

Another really great dessert I’ve enjoyed recently, and you might, too, is unsweetened applesauce mixed with a non-sweetened pear half, or dried fruit.  Non-fat Greek yogurt with a touch of honey and raisins is also really delicious, and may possibly satisfy the ice-cream urge, if you have one of those.

Any ideas?  Let us know about what you do for a sweet, but guilt-free, sugar-free desert.
