After a few days of rain, strong winds, and cold weather, the sun is peaking through the clouds.  I feel like getting out of the house, even though it’s still lightly drizzling .  Yes, my mind instantly and habitually thinks of the effort it will take, the possible wetness, the donning of raincoat, hat, and even an umbrella.  I will have to rally some energy to get all that together and get out the door.  Hmmmm.

Yet, I will again decide to make the slightest effort to remind myself of how great I will feel after.

From past experience, I know I will actually feel more energy and less tired during and after my morning hike.  My stomach and digestive system will feel good, moving breakfast through my pipes.  My heart will pump and my blood will flow so smoothly through my body.  My cloudy, rainy emotions and thoughts will also feel a break of sunlight and clearing – and I will clear out the cobwebs with every breath and step.  The stiff and sleepy muscles and bones will resurrect and renew, feeling supple and agile.  There’s every good reason to get up and get out the door.

Yet here I sit typing.  I have a hungry column to feed.

I know!  I’ll take you with me!  Let’s go together!  You get up and get out the door and so will I!  I’ll talk about the experience tomorrow, and I hope you will too.  Meet you here.  Bring a friend.
