Congratulations!  Another day is here, the 5th day!   Today, let’s keep up what we’ve been doing so far: logging and journaling food, feelings, activities, and now (since yesterday) caloric and financial savings.  You’re on the right track to lose weight by building new habits.  You are “giving back” the fat and sugar, the unhealthy junk foods and fast foods to the giant corporations that sell them without regard to how harmful they are to us.  You’re saying to them, “No more fat on my body, and no more unhealthy food.”  No more suffering with obesity, embarrassments and tight clothes.  You’re helping others by staying on your program, sharing your life, and reading and understanding other people’s efforts.  We are helping each other.  We are giving back the weight problems and unhealthy habits.

I have read all your comments, and said multiple prayers for everyone who posted, and for the many who didn’t, but are with us nonetheless.  I’m so inspired by how you’re “giving back” to God and to others.  Please post today, I’ll keep reading and praying, and doing the program with you.

Today’s Action Plan is really an activity:  a prayerful walk.

A Prayer Walk is an ancient way of becoming mindful, and at the same time, offering yourself in prayer to God (Spirit, Higher Power, or _______).   Prayer Walks are something I do myself, and with my clients, and everyone loves them, even if they find them challenging at first.

If you have a half hour, that’s great.  If you only have 10 minutes, or even 5 minutes, that’s great, too.  Remember the breathing meditation from Day 3?  The Prayer Walk is similar, but it’s a moving meditation.

Here’s how to do it:  Take 3 deep breaths while standing where you are.  Hold the top of the inhalation for 3 seconds, then the bottom of the exhalation for 3 seconds, too.  While doing this, feel your feet rooted deeply onto the ground.  You are being fully supported and held by God’s great earth.

Now, begin breathing normally, and slowly take a step forward.  Say in a whisper or silently to yourself, “I love God.”  With your next step, say, “God Loves Me.”  Step by step, prayer by prayer, this will gently and powerfully focus your mind into a profound place of love and praise.  Walk slowly, breathe normally, and if at any point you feel dizzy, stop and rest.

The Prayer Walk is something you can do anytime, anywhere.  No one needs to know you’re doing it.  You can do it going to or from work, or on a break.  Feel free to vary the prayer, in your own way.

Please comment – tell us your details and experiences – help others who are in need of inspiration.

If this is the first time reading about the give-back diet, don’t worry. You can start today.
