I predicted it over a month ago, but I was still shocked that Kris Allen is the final winner.

While this blog column is really about weight loss and well being, I do want to acknowledge that it was the underdog that succeeded, and there’s a reassuring value in that.  The “ordinary guy” who can sing well enough, wears plain and simple clothes, has a nice smile (and good looks) was the winner.  Goes to show that nice guys don’t always finish last; sometimes they win.  That inspires me in all my self-defeating behaviors, flaws, and imperfect messiness.

I personally liked Adam Lambert  and voted for him.  I think Adam sings much better than any of the finalists on the series this year.  He is certainly more entertaining than the others.  Would I buy an Adam Lambert song?  Possibly.  I wouldn’t buy a Kris song, definitely.  Truth be told (or sold), though, Alison Iraheta was my first choice.  She’s awesome.
