This has been a wonderful week, although difficult in many ways, wonderful here as so many people are in our community, and posting really inspiring, encouraging words.  Two of the most commented upon had to do with troubled times, fear, anxiety, and ways to keep hope alive: by the grace of God and with help from our friends (like all of us here).

Please take a look at my articles and the terrific comments that folks wrote, and share them with your friends, family and co-workers.  There were two this week that seemed to ring some bells and strike a few chords!

RECIPE FOR HOPE

STARTING THE DAY WITH FEAR AND ANXIETY

In response to my “Recipe for Hope,” Rosie wrote,

“My heart goes out to all of you who are suffering. I will say prayers for you this afternoon. No matter what, God will see us through. I have some small problems of my own, but with God’s help and the posts here, I have courage to face what lies ahead. Peace to all of you.”

I pray for you too Rosie, and everyone because we are all sufferring, and deeply appreciate the love and care that comes through your words.

In my posting on “Starting the Day with Fear and Anxiety,” William Norris (I sure like that last name!) wrote a very sensible method for awakening, which I also do:

“I try to limit coffee: to actually wake up, I do mild exercise and prayer that is not conventional, you would say improvised.

Yes, we do not need news people droning on over the same things that we’ve gone to bed with. But moving the soul and body is the best way that I know of.

Try it.

God Bless you.”

God bless you William, too.  Since I wrote that article last week, with God’s help I have been having only one cup of coffee a day.  That’s a big change.  I feel a lot better.  I’ve also not been watching news.  I too start my day with physical movement, prayer, and silent meditation.  My wife still likes news but she’s been putting on comedy news shows.  So I start with “body and soul” and then laugh my way into the day.  Love it!
