Have you ever thought that the excess weight you’re carrying may be due to something very heavy that’s weighing on you?  It’s not just the fat.

Have you ever really, truly, told someone about your true feelings and needs when they ask, “How are you?”

I want to suggest that you take some time to do a little meditation and identify for yourself how you are truly feeling, and what you really need today, right now.

As you’re reading this, you’re probably in a quiet mood or place already.  Hopefully you have some privacy.  Just for a few seconds, close your eyes and take three deep breaths.  Now, ask yourself how you feel deep down.  Clear your thoughts some more.  Now go a little deeper.  Let the hidden feelings surface.  It’s OK.  God is with you.

Are you energized or tired?  Happy, or sad?  Feeling hurt or ashamed, or self-confident and resolved?  What is it about you, in you, today?

Now, put those feelings into a self-request.  If you are feeling some good energy, ask yourself to put that energy to good use by doing something positive, or difficult; something that you may have been procrastinating.   If you’re blue, let yourself feel it deeply and think why, what’s underneath the feeling, causing it?  Now ask yourself to take an action.  Something like, “I feel sad because _____________, I need to ______________.”

Just taking a minute or two to really be good to yourself to feel the feelings, and put them into a self-need request can make all the difference.

As a way to express yourself and take some action, please post a comment and tell me and our other readers how you’re feeling and what you need.  Feel free to use a pseudonym or be entirely anonymous.  Then be sure to come back again later today and tomorrow, and the next few days, and see what others have posted, too.
