It snowed last night, so this morning the kids and I went sledding down our hill.  I rousted them out of bed, so we could go out before it melted.

Once out the door and gathering and dragging the sleds up the hill, it was very fast and very fun.  Even the trudging up the hill each time was great fun.  I just took it one little step, then another, step by step.  My heart was beating nice and fast, and the blood coursed through my veins.  Mmmmm.

Then woooosh, down the snowy hill again, this time faster and further following the first track in the snow.  There’s something really satisfying yet scary flying down a hill on a sled.  I always get kind of freaked out when it’s time to stop, so I don’t allow myself to go that fast down the hill.  Last thing I want to do is head into a tree, or down a cliff!  With each run, though, confidence builds as the snow packs down – further and further, always stopping without incident.

It’s been a few years since I’ve been sledding.  What a great way to get some physical exercise and exertion, while at the same time, playing with my fantastic family.

I felt so full of energy, sharp and clear minded, appreciating a warm house after.   Mmmmm.  My kind of satisfied life.
