Instead of a big lunch or dinner, have only one sandwich or small plate
of food.

Then use the extra time to get full from something else —
like being in nature or having a good conversation with friends. Or
just being quiet and contemplative.

Practice this over and over, and you will soon come to realize that it
takes very little food to fill you up. You may also come to realize
that it’s relationships that satisfy you.

Most of all, your
relationship with God and Spirit has the power to satisfy you.
If you’re constantly stuffed with excess food, you cheat yourself out
of the fullness that God offers you in your life.

At first, weaning
yourself of your overly connected relationship with food takes
practice. All you need to do is practice the art of substituting: surrender that extra portion or side item.
