‘Half the Sky’ Is a Must-Read

Not only does the book Half the Sky show what life can be like for women around the world, but it also absorbs you into the reality that many young girls face.

To read this book takes a bit of a strong stomach as several topics include gang rape, female genital mutilation, and HIV/AIDS. I was shocked to uncover the horrors that so many women have gone through around the world.

Yet, this book also brings a message of hope. A message that by promoting education and healthcare for young girls and women, they have a chance at a brighter future.

I highly suggest reading this book and checking out for yourself what women go through today – and what can be done about it tomorrow.
