Longtime readers of this blog will remember that I posted several items about the final months of Randy Pausch — I even preached about him one Sunday. Now comes word that his widow is writing a book about what it was like to be his caregiver:

Jai Pausch, the widow of Mr. Pausch, who died of pancreatic cancer in 2008, will write a memoir about the final months of her husband’s life and her experiences as his caregiver, the emotional trials her family underwent and her life now as a single mother of three children. The Crown Archetype imprint of Crown Books, a division of Random House, said it had acquired the untitled memoir and planned to publish it in the spring of 2012.

In a telephone interview on Friday, Ms. Pausch said she took care in approaching the new book project and the legacy of her husband, whose speech has been seen more than 12 million times on YouTube, whose book spent 85 weeks on the New York Times best-seller list.

There are more details at the link.

I can’t help but think this book will be an invaluable contribution, offering help and hope to many.
