Conan’s first guest? Pick the pope!

The once-and-future late night star Conan O’Brien is getting set to launch his new series on TBS — and he’s asking viewers to pick his first guest.

There’s an online poll — and the first choice is Pope Benedict.

Vote here — early and often. 

Meantime, he’s announced his other guests for the first week.

Why not Osama Bin Laden? Fidel Castro? Hugo Chavez? or David Letterman? All 33 of the Chilean miners? Aw heck, WHO CARES!!

When Oprah asked Diane Sawyer who she wished she could interview,she also said the pope. And when asked what question she would pose to him she said–surprisingly–“Do you think if Christ lived today would he be wearing the robes which you and priests must wear?” Interesting question, but I think I’d ask something with more substance and importance!
