The Deacon's Bench


It’s nice to see this new ministry in a diocese getting some attention.

But the errors contained in this article about deacons are really pretty embarrassing.

Boy, I didn’t get past the first paragraph without cringing:
Deacons are lay people who perform many of the same duties as priests.
Oy vey…

At least the first two comments on the article correct many of the errors. And then they wonder why many people don’t seem to trust what they read in the papers!

I bet a great majority of Catholics will not even notice one of the errors in the article. There is such a lack information and education among the majority of Catholics that makes articles like this common.

I think that to receive the loan from creditors you must present a good reason. Nevertheless, once I have received a bank loan, because I was willing to buy a building.
