It’s that time of year again: ordination season. Soon, men will find themselves face down on marble floors, a storm of saintly invocations raining down on them. We have three men about to be ordained priests here in Brooklyn, and about two dozen heading into the diaconate — praise God! (It’s the first deacon class since Your Humble Blogger’s in ’07.)

The Diocese of Rochester has just posted news of the men who will be ordained deacons there at the end of this month:

Some have turned their careers or hobbies into opportunities to serve. Three even took a trip to help deacons and their families in New Orleans with post-Hurricane Katrina recovery. All have had several chances to serve during their diaconal formation.

Now six candidates are scheduled to be ordained permanent deacons of the Diocese of Rochester at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 30, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 296 Flower City Park, Rochester.

Visit the Catholic Courier link to read more about them. We’re all praying for you, guys!
