Tapped by Bosco Peters for this esteemed honor, I’m now going to pass it along, as per his rules.

First, there’s the Mother of All Spiritual Blogs — the Mother Superior, in every sense — The Anchoress. Have you heard her podcasts? (Get thee to a nunnery? Please. Get thee to NPR, girl. Someone needs to give this woman a radio show, and soon.) BTW: You can also catch her under her real name (or so she claims — she’s very mysterious that way) at Pajamas Media, where — as Elizabeth Scalia — she’s shedding light on politics and Advent. Take a look.

Next up is the Rock, Whispers in the Loggia. Is anyone else read so religiously in every chancery, every rectory, every seminary from Philly to Phillipi? I doubt it. He’s Walter Winchell with a side order of Menken, a dash of Pyle and a little Hedda Hopper for desert.

One of the prettiest and pithiest and most engaging blogs around belongs to Julie at the aptly named Happy Catholic. How she does it so well, so consistently, is a mystery to me. It’s great to visit just to gawk at the incredible pictures.

No list of those who scribble superiorly (is that even a word?) would be complete without including Amy Welborn’s Charlotte Was Both. Anyone who needs to ask “Who’s Charlotte? And why was she both?” has to brush up on their E.B. White. Amy’s wise and winsome take on all things Catholic sets the standard. Her recent travelogue, reporting on a trip to Rome, made you feel like you were visiting places both familiar and famous in the company of an old friend.

Lastly, I just get a tremendous kick out of Fr. Austin’s Jesus Goes To Disney World. He connects the gospel with contemporary culture better than anyone else — it’s clever, delightful, insightful and true! (And you know me: I’m a sucker for Things Disney anyway.)

Superior scribblers, every one.

Now, pay it forward. The rules, from Bosco:

* Each Superior Scribbler must in turn pass The Award on to 5 most-deserving Bloggy Friends.
* Each Superior Scribbler must link to the author & the name of the blog from whom he/she has received The Award.
* Each Superior Scribbler must display The Award on his/her blog, and link to this post, which explains The Award.
* Each Blogger who wins The Superior Scribbler Award must visit this post and add his/her name to the Mr. Linky List. That way, we’ll be able to keep up-to-date on everyone who receives This Prestigious Honor!
* Each Superior Scribbler must post these rules on his/her blog.
