The Deacon's Bench

Remembering Harvey Korman, and taking the pledge

posted by Deacon Greg Kandra

Late word today that he has died, at 81.

You’ll find tons of clips on YouTube, but this, from Blazing Saddles, remains definitive. And just plain hilarious. Bless him. And just in case you missed it, there’s also this wonderful clip from Carol Burnett, with Tim Conway. He always looked like he was having the time of his life.

What made Harvey Korman so funny was his attempt to play straight man for Tim Conway on the Carol Burnett Show! The fact that Conway genuinely cracked him up (and a straight face was nigh impossible) made the act that much funnier! He was a one-of-a-kind comedic talent.
