Not long ago, I posted about Deacon Jim, classmate and brother deacon and friend, who was diagnosed with cancer.

Last night, Jim’s journey came to an end.

Lord, who shall be admitted to your tent
and dwell on your holy mountain?

He who walks without fault;
he who acts with justice
and speaks the truth from his heart;
he who does not slander with his tongue;

he who does no wrong to his brother,
who casts no slur on his neighbor,
who holds the godless in disdain,
but honors those who fear the Lord;

he who keeps his pledge, come what may;
he who takes no interest on a loan
and accepts no bribes against the innocent.
Such a man will stand firm forever.

— Psalm 15

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him…

My wonderful blog-pal The Anchoress, meantime, has just posted this beautiful ode, for Jim and his family. Please keep Jim’s family — his wife and children and all of those who love him — in your prayers.
