…you planted in your soul long ago.  – mary anne radmacher –

My friend is a florist and owns her own shop.  Each Saturday it is her joy to share the roses which have “seen better days.”   I’m one of her Saturday flower girls.  Nearly every Saturday I get to go home with a beautiful arm load of roses.  It brings my friend joy because she feels she is redeeming what would otherwise be wasted.  It brings anyone in my household joy.

I’m blessed in this current circumstance but I’ve been known to call and have flowers delivered – to myself!   In a few instances when I was feeling a little low and thinking  how nice it would be to have someone send me flowers, I’ve realized I DO HAVE SOMEONE!  That kind woman who looks back at me from the mirror.  Sometimes the most important and tender rose we can give is the one we pick and present to ourselves.
