Your Saturn Return: It’s a GOOD Thing

posted by Karen A. Kay

Astrology: Learn about your Saturn Return at Tarot.comI completely freaked out when I turned 28. At the time I thought it was just some kind of existential crisis about nearing the age of 30, but now I know it was related to my Saturn Return.

It’s pretty common to hear about people making drastic life changes in the years from around 28-30 — people have epiphanies, quit jobs, leave marriages, go back to school, have babies, etc. and so on. Anything to shake it up, and find more meaning in their lives.

What many don’t realize is how universal this phenomenon is, and how it’s actually related to the planet Saturn — the cosmic taskmaster who teaches us how to align our values with our goals and put them into action.

Saturn takes about 29 years to orbit the Sun, so when we each turn about 29, Saturn returns to the same part of the sky where it was when we were born — this is called our Saturn Return, and we can feel it for a couple of years before and after it actually happens.

There’s a lot of upheaval in life during these years, but it’s really just about coming into alignment with your true life path.

For example, if you married the wrong man when you were too young to realize what you were doing, as I did, you’ll probably figure that out right around your Saturn Return. Or if you majored in communications when you really want to be a veterinarian, you’re bound to start dreaming of going back to school during these years.

The Saturn Return can be a time fraught with frustration, anxiety, depression and even desperation, but this all serves to get you thinking and moving in the right direction.

That’s certainly true for me. Those years were among the most difficult of my life, but looking back I can’t even imagine a life in which those painful decisions hadn’t been made — and I’m grateful I had the courage to make them or my entire life would be less fulfilling now.

I’m sure those of you older than 30 know exactly what I mean. The rest of you will have to trust me that your Saturn Return is working for you rather than against you, and it will all shake down for the best in the end.

Chiron “The Wounded Healer” Is Retrograde

posted by Karen A. Kay

Get a Free 3-Card Celtic Cross Tarot Reading from Tarot.comYou know what they say — Time heals all wounds. Or wait, is it time wounds all heals? Whichever it is (probably both), the time for healing is now. That’s because Chiron, “the wounded healer,” is retrograde, and this planetary body packs quite a cosmic whallop.

Technically an asteroid, Chiron is associated with wounds and it has the healing power to transform our deepest hurts into something positive. So now that Chiron has gone retrograde from June 11 to November 10, 2012, we have a five-month long opportunity to find healing by looking within ourselves.

This might be a painful process, but it will be well worth it. Or at least I hope it will. My own heart hurts most in the area of trust, so revisiting past betrayals in order to get past them doesn’t sound like too much fun.

That said, if you’ve been through any traumatizing experiences that have left you feeling, well, “damaged” or carrying painful emotional baggage, as I have, this is a great time to work on repairing that hurt and transforming our pain into peace.

We’re going to need to identify the things that hurt the most before we can begin healing, of course, which is the painful part. But once we’ve worked through it (with help from Chiron), we’ll feel free and lighter than we have in years.

Good luck! If you need a place to start, I’d recommend a Tarot reading for insight. I’m going to do one myself, asking the question “What can I do to help me trust people again?” Bring it on, Chiron, let’s get this party started!

Lucky Jupiter in Gemini

posted by Karen A. Kay

Learn about Jupiter in Gemini at Tarot.comI thought I was excited about my birthday this past weekend (it was excellent, thank you), but now I’m even more excited about Jupiter in Gemini!

I always think of giant Jupiter as the lucky the planet, because it opens the door for new opportunities. And now that it’s moving into my own personal sign of easy, breezy Gemini for the whole next year, I feel like I’ll have good luck and growth in areas of communication for a good long while.

As a writer, that’s not a bad thing at all! Maybe I’ll finally get crackin’ on that novel I keep meaning to write.

Jupiter in Gemini is all about being blessed with new ideas and so many projects you can barely keep up with them all, so I’m guessing it’s going to be a busy year. In fact, I’m going to cut this blog short. I’ve got to get started doing EVERYTHING right now!

Weekend Love Horoscope: It’s a Good One!

posted by Karen A. Kay

Read your Weekend Love Horoscope at Tarot.comI’m so excited! For the first time in years I get to spend my birthday weekend with a man I love. I haven’t told him that yet, though, so shhhhhhhhhhh.

My birthday is Sunday, June 10, but obviously I plan to spend the entire weekend celebrating — and fortunately the Weekend Love Forecast looks better than the weekend weather here in rainy Portland, Ore. (But who needs sunshine when you’re in love, right?)

Friday starts the weekend with the Moon in Aquarius, which is actually a pretty detached placement — still friendly, but not very intimate. But that’s ok, because by the time Sunday arrives the Moon will have moved into dreamy Pisces — which means lots of loving birthday wishes for ME!

The whole weekend is basically a journey from head to heart — Friday can be spent having fun on casual dates with stimulating conversation; Saturday is all about getting sexy and indulging in your fantasies; and Sunday is intimacy and heartfelt interactions all the way.

Nevermind how many birthday candles I’ll have to use this year. I just hope my cake is covered with rose petals and kisses. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! xoxo
