Happy Birthday to Gemini Bob Dylan!

posted by Karen A. Kay

See Bob Dylan's Astrology Birth Chart at Tarot.comThat Bob Dylan sure has a way with words. The legendary singer is 71-years-old today, so let’s celebrate by taking a look at his birth chart and see what makes him such a cool cat.

Born Robert Allen Zimmerman in Duluth, Minn. at 9:05 p.m. on May 24, 1941, Dylan has a Gemini Sun sign, a Taurus Moon and a Sagittarius Rising.

Earth and Air elements are strong in Dylan’s chart, and his Ascendant is a Fire sign — ha, that means he’s basically Earth, Wind and Fire! This gives Dylan the ability to express himself in a creative and energetic manner, and to put practical ideas into action.

Of course, Dylan is best known for his lyrics, so I find it most interesting that his birth chart shows communication planet Mercury in Gemini — the sign of communication. This is a double-whammy in terms of having the gift of language, and it explains how his lyrics managed to move us politically, socially and philosophically.

He also plays more than one instrument — guitar, keyboards, and harmonica — and is quite an artist, having published three books of drawings and paintings and exhibiting his work in major art galleries.

This is all another indicator of his energy and versatility, and likely has something to do with having action planet Mars in Pisces — a placement that’s all about creativity and imagination, and success in the fields of art or music.

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg — take an in-depth look at Bob Dylan’s complete birth chart at the link below. Rock on Bob, we love ya. Oh, and Happy Birthday!
