Oh, Let’s Toss in a Good Schneersohn Quote

posted by chattering mind

“Life is dependent on the air around us, and the quality of life is dependent on the quality of air. In an atmosphere of Torah and mitzvot there is healthy life. The first general step in healing is to purify the atmosphere, and is effected through the letters of Torah. When speaking words of Torah while in the store or walking in the street or riding the subway, one purifies the air…”

Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn

I love this quote; kind of puts into words something I’ve always felt. Seems that if we hold thoughts of unity and lpeace in our minds, this would purify the planet too.>

This reminded me of an arguement I witnessed last week, which changed tenor once someone said, “Let’s just clear the air, ok?” at which point everyone stopped shouting. A few people sighed. Within a few minutes, the arguement was over. The air actually felt lighter, as if the sighs had cleansed the air. I’m curious…. how would someone who is Jewish interpret this: In an atmosphere of Torah and mitzvot there is healthy life?>

CM's Final Posts: You Can Fill the Space
Eighteen years ago, I wrote an article for a magazine that got me called in for a taped interview with a Fox TV morning news anchor. Being an effective communicator and a skillful public speaker was a dream of mine at the time. And still is. After some 30 minutes of prep with the station's hair-and-

Websites to Visit, Blogs to Read
Here are some blogs and websites I like. It's not a complete list. But it's a start. The first is called New Moon Journal and it is written by Michele Bailey-Lessirard, a life coach, collage artist, and "shamanic astrologer." On the opening page of her site, you'll find a little slide show of her am

And Finally, This:
Place your burden at the feet of the Lord of the Universe who accomplishes everything. Remain all the time steadfast in the heart, in the Transcendental Absolute. God knows the past, present and future. He will determine the future for you and accomplish the work. What is to be done will be done at
