How to Tame a Wild Parent

Do not give them reason to worry.

See things from their point of view.

Give them the benefit of the doubt.

Make housework a little easier.

Be responsible for your own schedule.

Take care of your health.

Make a few sacrifices of time and effort.

Show that you care about the sacrifices they’ve made for you.

Sometimes, saying “It’s because I love you” or “It’s for you own good.” just isn’t concrete enough for a teen. But these suggestions are clear, concrete and easy-to-follow. (Or at least we’ll see!) I think we’ll start slow, focusing on one idea at a time for a week or two. Thank you again, Amy, for your inspiring and usable information.>
