With Lauer At Hand, Is ‘Today’ Desperately Seeking Seacrest?

NBC may look to make a splash with the opening, apparently showing interest in American Idol’s Ryan Seacrest, according to

The move could bring a younger demographic to the program, not a bad idea, and Seacrest is telegenic.

The negatives outweigh the positives to me, however, as Seacrest would be a tough fit with Curry.

The over-enunciating E! host could also lose some of his appeal in the morning as he reportedly is leery about early a.m. hours.

Does Seacrest have that necessary quality to replace Lauer, who is the face of the show?

Stay tuned … but first … this is Today
