First off, I would like to take a sentence or two to thank everyone reading this blog for its major growth the last few days.

Readership has turned from the teens into the hundreds per day, and I am humbled and grateful for that.

OK…tough segue here but had to take a moment to comment on the passing of Peter Falk.

His gentle, nudging way of being a detective on Columbo sure was different than today’s “in your face” cop shows.

Peter Falk

Falk was like an old friend, an old familiar pair of slippers to ease into.

Although he is on the radio, and not TV, WABC’s Mark Simone has become that way for me when he fills in for Sean Hannity during the week or especially on his Saturday a.m. show on the New York station (wabcradio.com).

Simone will pay tribute to his dear friend on tomorrow’s 7a-10a  broadcast. One class act appreciating another … good stuff!

On a not so positive note, are the interviews Ryan O’Neal and Tatum O’Neal have given the last couple of days.

It was painful watching Ryan comment about Farrah Fawcett and his family troubles on Piers Morgan’s show on CNN.

Tatum O’Neal also put herself in a bad position of talking about the situation on CBS’ The Talk.

I guess they are doing it to promote their upcoming series on OWN, but it just seems some things would be better left unsaid …
