The John Wesley Fellows Meeting at Candler—- The Art of Theology

posted by Ben Witherington

The John Wesley Fellows meeting this January was held in Atlanta at Candler School of Theology, and its Dean,  Dean Love is a collector of art for the seminary, with some 50 or so paintings now gracing the walls of their beautiful new seminary building.  The art of choice comes from a West coast artist influenced by Hispanic or Latin American art, named John August Swanson.  He has done a remarkable number of Biblical scenes, for instance above we have David and Goliath.

Here we have the raising of Lazarus.

Here is St. Michael slaying the dragon.

Here is a painting of scenes in stained glass in a cathedral.  There are many more of this ilk in Candler’s new building.

John August Swanson’s work is lovely and profound. I had the opportunity to meet Mr Swanson last fall and he is as wonderful as his art. If you folks at Candler have the chance to meet him- don’t miss the opportunity.

Modern cars, on the other hand, are a confusing
mish-mash. It also has a lovely gentle wake up feature which gradually increases in volume easing you out of the land

to commit fraud and money laundering. In a nutshell,
people tend to automatically share emotions to one degree

But if you wait till you’re sure you’ve got it right, your business will stall

of erosion by subversives and demagogues, the constitutionally limited federal republic is slowly being changed into a
democracy. Q3: Explain the drawbacks of money market in India.
Often these meals can be purchased at a significant discount on sale, and
you will save money when you stock up on them at the sale price.

Marketing strategies using the Internet have been around for
some time. So it is important that the consumers are targeted
using well-planned promotions in this stage of the decision making process, as this is when the
actual purchase decision takes place. If your updates don’t contain any valuable information, your subscribers will lose interest.
